Chicks with Picks discounts available NOW!

Since we just wrapped up our last Chicks Climbing clinic for 2012, we thought what better way to celebrate such a fantastic year (wouldn’t you agree?!), then offering a couple different discounts for our upcoming Chicks with Picks ice climbing clinics!

So, that’s what we are going to do in the form of both a “Buddy Deal” and “Early-Bird” discount.

Here’s the deal. There are two different discounts you can take advantage of, but the following conditions apply to both the “Buddy Deal” and “Early-Bird” offers.
– The discounts are for the full package only. They DO NOT APPLY to the clinics offered at the “no hotel” or “dirtbag” pricing. The discounts are only valid for those who select lodging in either the single or double occupancy format. When you look at the clinic offerings this means that it only applies to “Option 1” and “Option 2”.

– The discount will be refunded only to those Chicks that PAY IN FULL by Nov. 22.

– You can only get one discount – so no combining the “Buddy Deal” and “Early Bird!”

So how much can you save?

Buddy Deal

If you sign up for a Chicks with Picks clinic with a buddy, and you both pay in full by Nov. 22, you will each be refunded $100 on the cost of the clinic.

Early Bird

For those of you who are signing up on your own, if you sign up and pay in full by Nov. 22, you will be refunded $75 from the cost of the clinic.

The discounts are applicable to any of our four Chicks with Picks clinic offerings: The Graduate, The Sampler, The Complete and the Quickie.

Finally, for those within a group of three friends, please contact us at info(at)civi-chicks.biz so we can get the buddy deal savings worked out for you as well!

Now get to recruiting your girls and make sure you sign up and pay in full by Nov. 22 to cash in on the savings! Let’s get ready to have a blast in Ouray! 🙂

Crazy Creek limited edition Chicks Climbing camp chairs!

We’ve got some exciting (i.e. new & different!) Chicks Climbing merchandise for sale in the form of Crazy Creek camp chairs customized with the Chicks logo. Check them out!  The colors available are pictured from left-right: ash/moss; black; sky blue/cocoa; and royal blue.

Through a deal with Crazy Creek, we are able to offer these one-of-a-kind Chicks chairs for sale at a price of $50. But, unless you are local to the Ridgway area where they live at the Head Chick’s house you’ll likely have to add on shipping, which is $12 (awkward box size, sorry!).

If you are interested in picking up a Crazy Creek chair at one of our upcoming Chicks Rock! clinics, let us know because we may be able to save you shipping costs there, too!

These are actually great chairs to have at our Chicks Rock! events since some of our camping sites aren’t ‘traditional’ camp sites with picnic tables for seating, which makes having one of these a real luxury as opposed to sitting flat on the ground 🙂

So, check them out and drop us a line at info[at]civi-chicks.biz if you’re interested in buying one!

Early bird & buddy deal savings to be had at Devil’s Lake!

As we wrap up our inaugural Chicks Rock! event in Indian Creek, we are already looking forward to heading back to the Midwest to climb at Devil’s Lake in Baraboo, Wisc. this summer!

This year, our women’s three-day intensive clinic at Devil’s Lake is happening July 27-30, so come on out and spend a long weekend climbing with Chicks at this midwest climbing mecca!

We have two special pricing discounts you can take advantage of – if you sign up early!

If you sign up as an individual by May 31, you can take advantage of our early-bird special and save $75 on the cost of the clinic.

For those of you who want to save even more, bring a buddy along! Yes, our infamous buddy deal is back: if you and a buddy both sign up by May 31 you can each save $100 on the cost of the clinic. Those that miss the May deadline can still save $50 each if you both sign up by June 30.

The early-bird and buddy deal discounts apply to both the full package affair which includes three days of climbing at a 4-1 ratio, all meals, climbing and camping gear, or the daytime package which consists of climbing lessons only.

You can get more information by checking out the complete details of our Chicks Rock! women’s intensive climbing clinic here.

Are you wondering what our Chicks have to say about the clinic? Check out Elizabeth’s testimony from her 2011 Chicks Rock! Devil’s Lake experience here.

Finally, for those within a group of three friends, please contact us at info(at)civi-chicks.biz so we can get the buddy deal savings worked out for you as well!

We look forward to seeing you at Devil’s Lake!

Zion Women’s Climbing Trip

Hey ladies, we recently got word of a really cool climbing festival coming up that we wanted to share with you! The Zion Women’s Climbing Trip is scheduled to take place March 30-April 11 at Zion National Park. There is no charge for people to attend, other than the cost of the campground fee which is $3/night. This event – even though it’s called a women’s climbing trip, is open to guys too. The goal of the event is to foster an exchange of experience between climbers from different countries and show support within the international rock climbing community.

From the trip organizer Sergey Dremin:
“This trip follows a lineage of other similar trips around the world by a group of Russian women rock climber and mountaineers. We want to meet other American and international climbers while at Zion. All levels of climbing experinces are welcome, as long as you have enough brains not to get hurt. Check out our Facebook page for more information at:” http://www.facebook.com/events/218974248177426/

Here’s the lowdown:

The participants:
25 Russian rock climbers and mountaineers, and you. About 15 women, with multiple women-only climbing teams. More info from past events: http://orangesunshineteam.ru/

The plan:
March 30: Meet up and settle down at the group campsite E5 at Watchman Campground, 20 spots available between March 30-April 7 at $3 per person, per night.
March 31-April 1: Try out shorter routes in a common location. (Sport climbing, short trad routes.)
April 1: Meet-up at a venue (Majestic View Lodge) for afternoon festivities.
April 2-6: Climb longer multi-pitch routes. Please remember to let somebody know where you are going for safety. Multi-day routes are discouraged, you will need additional permits from Zion NP for those. (Trad climbing)
April 6: Party at the campsite in the evening, get some interesting outdoor schwag.
April 7-11: More climbing. Watcham group campground E5 is ONLY reserved until the 6th.

Interested in learning more? The main contact in the U.S. is: Sergey Dremin, in Denver, CO, who you can reach at 970-214-7653, serega7@gmail.com.

Happy climbing! 🙂

“Caption that Photo!” contest

It just wouldn’t feel like the holiday season if we at Chicks didn’t have something to give away – and we do thanks to our sponsors at Marmot! The best part is, this contest is a good “old fashioned” one that we are hosting on the Chicks blog, so EVERYONE can enter!

Starting today and running through Dec. 29 we are hosting a “Caption that Photo!” contest for a chance to win a Marmot Zelus 25 pack. But since we had such a hard time even picking a single photo to caption from our 2011 Chicks with Picks clinic albums, Marmot generously agreed to give away THREE Zelus 25 packs (in black!). That’s right, there are THREE chances for you to win so let’s talk about you might go about doing so.

To enter:
(1) You must leave a “caption” in the comment box at the bottom of the post.
(2) The caption should in some way refer to the photo. You can leave as many captions (entries) as you’d like but please do not use any derogatory or demeaning language – let’s keep it classy! (Captions we find to be offensive will be removed by us and the entry will be deemed invalid.)
(3) When you leave your caption please make sure you sign-in to the comment box by leaving your e-mail address so we have a way to contact you in the event you are selected as a winner.

At the end of the contest period on Dec. 29 we will choose one winning caption for each of the three photos. We will announce the winners in a blog post here at Chicks on Dec. 30 and then contact the three winners for their shipping information, which we will pass on to Marmot, who will send the prize directly to you.

Here are the links to the photos we are looking to caption!
Photo No. 1 (Taken at the Chicks with Picks “Complete”)
Photo No. 2 (Taken at the Chicks with Picks “Graduate”)
Photo No. 3 (Taken at the Chicks with Picks “Sampler”)

Remember, the more captions you enter the better your chances are at coming up with the winning caption! If the SAME caption is entered by more than one individual, the winner will be the first entrant in the queue. Any questions? Let us know! Otherwise, let’s get to it! 🙂
