For ten years Chicks with Picks has been kicking axe with our women’s ice climbing clinics. We’ve decided to shed our soft shells and don our favorite tank tops…we’re heading to the desert! Come join our expert Girly Guides in Red Rocks, Nevada for our NEW women’s rock climbing program!

We welcome beginner to advanced rock climbers with 5 different levels you can choose from. This three-day clinic offers a 4-to-1 ratio followed by an optional multi-pitch day with a 2-to-1 ratio.
Price includes group camping (tents & sleeping bags provided), meals, demo gear and guided climbing. If you want to stay at a hotel please see our suggested list and make reservations on your own. We will be located at The Group Campground, a 10 minute drive from were we will be climbing. This is truly the “full package” affair – you don’t have to worry your pretty little head about anything except showing up to climb!
Chicks has become well known for more than just climbing – our gals become solid climbers, learn self-reliance and confidence that funnels into everyday life. We not only climb hard all day, we will also gather at night for dinners, discussions, slideshows and campfires.
Red Rocks is a world-renowned climber’s mecca, located only 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Named as a National Conservation Area, Red Rocks is comprised of multiple canyons cut into a 3000-foot sandstone escarpment, and plays host to a huge variety of climbing options. With steep but moderate routes, long cracks and bolted faces, bouldering and short sport routes, there is something for every climber here. Although close enough to Las Vegas for a fun night on the town, the climbs at Red Rocks are hidden from the city’s hubub, and wildlife still abounds. We’d love to see you there with us in October!

Chicks Rock! Red Rocks Itinerary:
Arrive at Red Rocks by 4 PM to get settled into the group campsite. Those staying at a hotel, arrive at group campground before 5 PM.
5:00 PM: Kick off meeting for the Chicks Rock Weekend at the Chicks Rock group campsite – Catered group dinner (BYOB), orientation, meeting with your climbing group.

7:30 AM: Breakfast provided at camp. Pack your lunch at the lunch spread
8:00 AM: Meet at the Chicks Rock group campsite geared up for the day
4:00 PM: Climbing day ends
6:00 PM: Dinner and slide show in town. Optional night on the town; go clubbing, Las Vegas Style!

8:00 AM: Meet at the Chicks Rock group campsite geared up for the day
4:00 PM: Climbing day ends
6:00 PM: Gather for catered dinner at the Chicks Rock group campsite. Apps provided at 6:00, BYOB. Hang out and tell lies around the campfire.

2:30 PM: Climbing day ends
3:30-5:00 PM: Wrap up meeting at the Chicks Rock group campsite
Plan to travel after 6:00 PM or spend another night
5:30 PM: Multi-Pitch Group meeting (BYOB) at the Chicks Rock group campsite. Register and meet with your guide for multi-pitch day
6:30 PM: Free night, have fun out for those staying for Multi-Pitch day
Optional Multi-Pitch climbing day, 2-to-1 ratio. Limited space available.
7:00 AM: Meet at the Chicks Rock group campsite geared up for the day. Breakfast provided at camp. Pack your lunch at the lunch spread
4:00 PM: Climbing day ends.
Travel after 6:00pm, or plan to stay another night in the group campsite. Those of you flying out, plan to fly on Tuesday.
